Are American movies shown in Saudi Arabia or in the Muslim world?

I know that there are no cinemas in Saudi Arabia.





But are American movies shown on TV in Saudi Arabia or in both cinemas and television in the Muslim world as a whole?


(I say American movies because they are the most popular).





And are the movies shown as a whole or are any parts censored?|||First I'll start off with Saudi Arabia





Yes they are shown on TV in here, the latest ones too.





The TV shows and movies shown on channels on a regular satellite are censored (the sexual scenes of course), but the ones shown on satellites like Showtime and Orbit are not.





Movies sold in the kingdom are censored too.





the other Muslim countries have cinemas and they do show American movies, but they're censored. The movies that are released in the theater are the same ones released in the UK.|||Yes.


Nowadays, you can find the satelite dishes every where across the kingdom. So everybody can enjoy Hollywood movies, if they want to.


HBO and Cinemax broadcast the same movies with the other countries. The Saudi authority, of course, cannot censor those movies.|||Take a close look at any picture showing the common, everyday world in these places ---- see the satillite dishes ?? They're everywhere !! So, what do YOU think is being watched on these televisions ? Oprah Bin Laden ? I don't think so !!!|||yes they do|||we see american films in arabic muslim countries , come views are sensored , but in cinema theyare not , in arabi saudia there is no cinema.but in the other muslim countries thereare , in the films thereare not censored at all.|||I live in Nasr City area of Cairo (part time) and just across the street from the City Stars cinema. Although I dont go to movies, I know that obviously they are there. They are censored though from what I am told....Any of the people in this section live near me??? just curious|||Unfortunitly yes.|||yes but some parts are censored or cut out|||The spreading of the satellites and the internet ......yes it's more available and not only the American movies.|||Of course American movies are shown here in our Cinemas in the Middle East. Not in Saudi Arabia though. Tell you a fact? I live in Bahrain, do you know that some American movies are released here in Bahrain before it gets released in USA? Do you know that Fantastic Four 2 is already released in Bahrain today? Go to IMDB and check it out. Movies are censored in Bahrain but not fully. It differs from country to country. For example in Kuwait, they cut off scenes that even have just kisses. They definately do not do that in Bahrain. They only delete those parts with pure sexual scenes, and scenes that abuse God or the prophets. And in TV's, we see movies all the time. Oh, and new movies as well, I just watched "My Super Ex-girlfriend" last night ;)|||no there are tv shows, movies, etc


and there are a few cinemas in saudi, not many :p but 2 or 3
