Do you think Americans, in general, are violent people? Thanks for your answer.|||It gets our juices flowing. Vicarious machismo. Yeah, statistically, our country is more violent than other Western countries.|||Because they are looking for the biggest audience possible. And while lots of people give non-violence lip service. Push comes to shove they are just as violent as everyone else. Actual pansies are the smallest minority there is.
Even people who will not confront you head on, have been know to stick a knife in your back given the opportunity.
Movies are not the cause of violence. Violence was here first. And how would you explain the Middle East. TV and American movies are banned over most of it. And yet they are more violent than we are.
People like to watch. I understand the Roman Colosseum was quite popular in it's time.
American movies are saturated with (fake) violence. Because violence sells. It is that simple.|||The movie makers see violence as "action". An action packed movie sells easily.
The bottom line is money. However, if it were so annoying to viewers, they would not go to the theaters.
Violence on screen operates a catharsis, or so it is supposed to do. But it does not.
Young people try to imitate what they see in the films. So we have to assume that those who like violence in the movies like violence in real life. It is not always true. I would still say that American people tend to be more violent than other people. But not by far. And they have qualities which are wonderful and make them lovable anyway.|||No, but perhaps the movie-makers are infatuated with it. When we stray from the "formula" movies we are at the whelm of the movie-makers politics, the movie-makers prejudices. These days fads and stars are not based on quality, they are based on media oversaturation. Not only does the media give you what you want, it gives you the desire in the first place, easily catering to the lower self.|||Not just american movies, but even british, australian or asian movies for that matter, are full of violence. i guess it's because showing violence in whatever act, then solving that with a hero, easily pleases the common and present mindset of an average movie goer nowadays. sad to admit, over the centuries, man's expression of violence has greatly increased, reducing the stature of what an enlighted human person should be. such a cheap shot, huh, but that's reality, mate...|||I used to think so, Aquazul. But no longer. I think that violence is everywhere. Seen or hidden.
The movies throughout the world are saturated with violence because sex is not acceptable.
Viewers need to see something that they do no see in their daily routine.|||To answer your first question;its exciting and they make money! And yes,we are a violent people. We have nearly conquered the world,at least by most standards.|||media mirrors society|||Yes. High crime rate. A lot of black people and Mexicans, which add to that.|||conflict sells
