Is American life really the same as in the movies?

I'm from Australia and I watch all the American movies like American Pie and all that, are the party's and college really the same as how they have represented it?|||is everyone in australia just like the crocodile hunter?


hah, no. america is NOT like the movies. i mean, i guess books, TV, and movies have to start somewhere, but it's really just reality blown way out of proportion. sure, i haven't experienced everything there is in those movies, but i can say pretty confidently they are just that - movies. with the exception of those in american pie and the secret life of the american teenager, i'm relatively sure most people aren't busy having sex at band camp.


strange, however, that they both have "american" in the title...|||Sadly, No!





American Pie is terrible,





Never believe anything you see in American movies. Its all a big sham. We may seem completely free but we are not the government is controlling. College isn't like that some people actually want to learn in college. Though, there have been similar situations like American Pie but they aren't every single night. LoL





:) Being an american isn't some world of glitz and glamour|||Not to my knowledge no. Mostly it is all made up drama, based on real things that happen but are so dramatized it is ridiculous. Do you really ride kangaroos in Australia? Yeah look at how ridiculous that question is, I am smart enough to know that somethings are just made up for TV ratings.|||ahahhah i wish it was! no. in movies everything always seems super fun and the girls are always way hotter than real life! haha no life here pretty much sucks. i interpert australia as being waaay better with beaches and good surfing. i actually plan on going to college there.|||AHAHAHAHAHAHA!





American Pie is the WORST example of ANY stereotype in America.

* it diffcult %26amp; people are rude as f/ck. The econmy here is bad, our new president is trying his best but we Americans what everything done quick fast %26amp; in a hurry. But then again, it the FREE WORLD, where you can say f/ck off to someone %26amp; not get in trouble.|||Not at all

were not all lazy slack offs like other countries think we are|||No, of course not. Movies are never like real life, otherwise people wouldn't pay to see them. Real life is a lot less dramatic.|||God I hope not. Exterminate ... Exterminate ...





Tell your friend you have a pet drop bear - Keep him entertained with a few long tales. Americans will never understand Australians so why bother to help.
