What makes American movies look different to all other movies?

I mean the lighting looks better....and other things that I'm not well informed enough to name. If you took an American film and showed scenes to the public....but turned off the Sound and had no visible American places...people would still know the film was American....why is that? British films often look duller...more realistic or something....the Australian movie Muriel's Wedding might pass asAmericann looking....but Idon'tt think it's to do with the sunshine....what IS it?|||I think the kissing scenes LOL...|||I do know what you mean and I think it's the technical equipment. The lighting, cameras, sets, wardrobe. It's probably better quality in the American films.|||BECAUSE the drama is not that hard, the voices are changed at the studio

the experience of knowing better how to do a movie

the cast

every thing is better haha

here in mexico the movies sucks unless they're comic movies or shows

but else is very DRAMATIC|||I think part of the reason is because many American films are produced with the TV loving audience in mind. This audience is not usually as tolerant of artistic touches such as a grainy or dark look. But I'm sure part of the reason is also because many American films are better lit.

I manage a movie theatre and every time we play a movie that is in black and white, we get complaints from people who feel cheated because the picture is not in color. That's the mindset of American audiences.

EDIT

I should add that many American films are better funded than the average film produced in many foriegn countries. For this reason, the films will tend to have higher production values in terms of lighting and so forth. This may lead to better image quality, but many American films also suffer from poor stories and/or scripts.

EDIT 2

Joseph: Paul Greengrass was not connected to The Bourne Identity. He directed The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum.|||Most independent films are very frugal with their spending. So much that it more hurts the studio more then it benefits. Now as a movie lover and amateur film maker, I enjoy watching independant films and there have been some good that I've seen. One is La Viene Rose. A movie that depicted the life of Edith Piaf a French singer from Paris during the 1930's and 40's. So idk, it just really depends on who is making the film. Did you know Paul Greengrass was considered an international film maker until he was known for his suspense thriller 007 killer movie Bourne Identity?

So overall it just depends what movie your seeing. I don't believe all international movies are dull, it just depends on the person who is behind the camera.|||Editing. Like everything American movies are manually altered; overlaid with new sound, digital enhanced lighting and Photoshop鈥檇 images. The reason you see it more in American films is mostly due to their massive budgets compared to foreign or independent films.
